PLEASE READ THIS VERY IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR YOUR SCHOLARSHIP PAYOUT THIS YEAR!

The board has been working to simplify the process for you. Below are some positive changes for you to be aware of AND actions you will want to take immediately.

 

WE NO LONGER REQUIRE TRANSCRIPTS! 

Students do not need to submit transcripts to us. You still need to meet the requirements to qualify for your scholarship. Your college will be informed of these criteria and will apply the money IF you have met the requirements.

1. You have a minimum CGPA of 2.0.

2. You are enrolled as a full-time student.

3. Your thank-you note(s) has been received by AP DFS.

We will mail the scholarship checks around the middle of January 2024 to the COLLEGE YOU HAVE LISTED in the portal. 

*Please note, looking ahead to the 2024-2025 school year, we will be mailing checks before school begins in the fall (2024).  This is a big change, but we feel it will make things simpler for students.

 

ACTIONS YOU NEED TO TAKE:

1. Log into your DFS portal and update the college you WILL BE attending in January 2024. This is the college your money will be sent to. Please make sure you have the correct college, or your money WILL BE DELAYED!

2. If you have not sent a thank you note for this scholarship, you MUST do this before the scholarship is paid. If you have not written a Thank you note, your PAYMENT WILL NOT BE sent until the note is received.

3. Make sure your scholarship from last year is ACCEPTED. If it is not accepted this WILL DELAY YOUR PAYMENT. Scholarship America REQUIRES this step before we pay the scholarship.

4. Apply for next year!  Post-grads are eligible to receive up to 4 years of scholarships from A-P DFS.  Post-grad applications are due by February 23, 2024.  Simply update your profile and submit to a scholarship.
